Two Critical Rules When Buying Lithium (LiFePO4) Batteries in Canada

  1. Cold-Weather Low-Temp Charging Cutoff & Self-Heating (低温充电保护与自加热功能): Lithium cells can discharge safely down to -20 °C (-4 °F), but you must NEVER charge a LiFePO4 battery when its internal cell temperature is below 0 °C (32 °F) without protection, or lithium plating will permanently damage the cell!   2. Outboard Alternator Compatibility for Starting Batteries: Many standard deep-cycle lithium BMS boards will shut off if used to crank an outboard, causing an alternator voltage spike.
